Rising stars of the UK jazz scene since formation in 2010, London-based Dagda Quartet sum up what inspires their music in three words: Culture, Tradition and Experience. Led by Sheffield-born saxophonist Tom Harrison, their debut album features regular band members Billy Adamson (guitar), Tom West (bass), Mike Clowes (drums) and special guest awarding-winning Irish saxophonist Michael Buckley (Kurt Rosenwinkel, Dave Liebman).
With influences ranging from John Coltrane to Pink Floyd, 'Dagda' features new original music, including 'Suite for RLH' which is dedicated to the memory of Harrison's grandfather and the jazz standard 'A Flower is a Lonesome Thing'. With a month-long UK tour booked to promote their first outing with LYTE Records, featuring guests such as US saxophone giant Jean Toussaint, Dagda Quartet are set to make a strong impression.
