David Lyttle began performing professionally at the age of four in his family folk group and has gone on to be described by premier Irish music magazine Hot Press as a ‘one-man industry’ for his work as a performer, songwriter, producer and record label owner.

His activities are diverse and his third solo album Faces is no exception, with collaborators including hip hop visionary Talib Kweli, Irish music star Duke Special, Grammy winning jazz icon Joe Lovano and forward-thinking British vocalist Cleveland Watkiss. It follows the successes of 2012’s Interlude, which was championed by MOBO (‘exceptional’) and BBC Radio 1's Introducing, and included live excursions to Los Angeles' historic Hotel Café venue, London Jazz Festival and Sligo Jazz Festival, where David double billed with Gilles Peterson.

Written and produced over the course of a year with trips to New Orleans, Hawaii and California for inspiration, Faces was recorded in New York, London, Dublin and Lyttle’s country studio in Northern Ireland. It blends soul, hip hop, jazz and pop, with Lyttle appearing as producer, instrumentalist, singer and co-writer with his twelve featured performers. He’s made return calls to key Interlude guests, including his sister Rhea and mother Anne, plus rappers Homecut and iLLspokinN, and bassist Keith Duffy of The Corrs. Two important signees to Lyte Records, 2014 MOBO nominee Jason Rebello and saxophone legend Jean Toussaint, feature alongside new and underground talent, including soul singer Natalie Oliveri, Irish hip hop artist Zane, and rising jazz stars Meilana Gillard and Tom Harrison.
